“ICT as Medium for Advocacy”

ICT (Information, Communications, and Technology) has evolved dramatically from when I was in elementary school and now that I am in senior high. Many aspects may be compared, including the singing of the national anthem, concept notes, visual aid presentation, class record, and class dismissal. Let's look at the differences between ICT in elementary school and ICT in senior high school.

The singing of the national anthem

We used to sing the national song together in elementary school. Students are separated by section and height upon entering the school. On stage, there is a conductor who will conduct so that the students can all sing at the same time. Each section's president will check to see if all of his students are singing. Due to the pandemic and the construction of Manila Science Highschool, the singing of the national anthem is now recorded and is only presented by SSG on Facebook, and there will be a flag ceremony, which will only be done every Monday, unlike when I was in elementary school, the day of the flag ceremony.

Concept Notes

Taking notes is essential for pupils to remember and learn anything from the teacher's session. Taking notes is simpler now than it was in grade school, but I preferred it back then. We used pens and notebooks for writing in grade school, and it was often rushed since the teacher would discuss fast. To take notes, you may now utilize a tablet, google docs, or other websites. You may also record or screenshot the teacher's presentation to learn more.

Presentation of Visual Aids

When presenting visual aids in grade school, we employ the traditional method , we use Manila Paper, Cartolina, and Pentel Pen. Teachers ought to show us how to report in class, both individually and in groups. Previously, almost all types of reporting in class used the traditional manner of presenting visual assistance. Teachers at Senior High School taught us how to present visual aids using PowerPoint, Canva, Google slides and printed materials. They believe that this strategy should be adopted, especially because we are a new generation, so that we will be aware enough to use media in our future studies and careers.

Assignment and Research

Answering our assignments and conducting research in grade school is only possible if we can borrow books from the library or if the instructor lends us their books. If we don't know how to answer our tasks, we will only seek assistance from our parents, whether they are aware of it or not. Answering our assignments and conducting research is much easier in Senior High School since the Internet is there to assist us. There is an abundance of information available on the internet, which is quite beneficial to students.
